Tip 7 Expect The Best: Don't be an ostrich, head in the ground, convinced the next phone call from the mortgage lender carries bad news. The ostrich misses opportunities while he's hiding. So don't assume the worst. Expect good news!

In order to keep in the loop with your home loan process, make sure your mortgage professional knows the best way to contact you.

Tip 8 Just Say No To Moss: Return mail pronto! Don't let your loan process gather moss. Certain forms require a physical signature. Send back paperwork the same day you receive it. Delaying your mortgage over the simple act of running out to the mailbox would make no sense.

Along the same line, if a child in your household picks up the mail, consider taking over the task until your transaction closes.
